Informal Poll: What’s Your Blog Post Worth?

questionWhat is your blogging worth? What is the “just right” amount of pay per post you’d accept? And while we’re on the subject, what’s the worst amount of pay you’ve actually ACCEPTED for a blog post or series of posts? What’s the most outrageous sum you’ve ever collected for a blog post?

The blog world is in an ever-changing state of flux, and I like to get a reality check every once in a while…after working for people who spend as little as $4 a post to people willing to pay as much as $50, I do wonder where the “true north” of decent-quality blog post prices might be. Assuming there is one.

So I put it to you–what are YOUR blog posts worth to you? Not ideally, but in terms of what you’re actually being paid and what you will and won’t accept.

I look forward to your replies…

  1. For me, it depends on the content. I have many regular weekly blogging gigs, my lowest paying is $25 per post and my highest at the moment is $50. It really depends on the content and how much of my expertise it requires. The most I would probably charge would be $75 and that would be for high level financial strategery ;P

  2. One of my earliest paid blogging positions was for a five dollar a post deal…I wonder how many people are still getting away with that or if the times have changed in general. I can’t see paying people 5 per post and getting any kind of quality but then again, what do I know? 🙂

  3. To me, a lot depends on the length and how in-depth the client expects the post to be. Much the same as regular writing, these two factors are key for how to price blog posts…

At least for me. ; )
