Arkansas Writers Groups
The Arkansas Press Association is a must-see for journalists and media freelancers working in the area.
Northwest Alaska Writers Workshop helps those who write professionally AND for fun. The workshop has writing contests and weekly meetings.
Twin Lakes Writers meets monthly to encourage writers and hold critique groups.
River Valley Writers is based in Fort Smith, Arkansas and has a monthly roundtable meeting for aspiring writers.
Ozark Creative Writers, Inc. features an annual conference, held in 2010 in beautiful Eureka Springs. This group is based around the annual conference and writing contest.
Arkansas Writers is an excellent site for anyone looking for news and info on Arkansas writer’s groups, Arkansas writers and related topics.
The Writers Guild of Northwest Arkansas is a co-located page with Arkansas Writers.
Arkansas Inspy Writers is especially for those writing in the Inspirational genre. This site includes info on upcoming workshops and events.
The Fiction Writers of Central Arkansas site includes a list of books written by its members…a good way to get some extra local exposure for your own work if you become a member.
The Arkansas Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) – The Arkansas Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) holds an annual spring conference and fall retreat open to SCBWI members and nonmembers. Arkansas SCBWI also offers networking, critique and online opportunities for local SCBWI writers and illustrators.
