This collection of Oklahoma writers groups couldn’t possibly ever be finished. We’re on a never-ending mission to update these pages, so if you don’t find your favorite Oklahoma writers group here, please drop us a line to let us know what we’re missing.

Oklahoma Writers Groups

OKC Writers Association meets once a month and non-members are welcome to attend and join at their first meeting. There’s a coffee social before the main event. This group sponsors a writing contest and offers a monthly newsletter.

The Oklahoma Writers’ Federation is a 600-member strong organization with members in several other states. OWFI features an annual conference sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts Council.

The Oklahoma City Writers Meetup Group features a variety of activities and is integrated with Facebook.

Red Dirt Writers seems to have an emphasis on fiction, but the official site also has an essays section for creative nonfiction writers.

Oklahoma Writers and Authors leans in favor of book authors, and has a section dedicated to Oklahoma book festivals.

A Writing Study Group based in Norman, Oklahoma meets once per month at a local bookseller, but double check the meetup site for schedule changes or cancellations.
