The Maryland Writers’ Association is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art, business, and craft of writing. MWA brings together writers of all levels and disciplines, serves as an information resource, helps members make contacts that lead to publication, encourages writers to reach their full potential, and promotes writing within the community. MWA’s diverse membership ranges from professional freelancers and published authors, to writers aspiring to be published and those who write as a creative outlet. It has chapters that meet monthly in Annapolis (Anne Arundel County), Baltimore (City and County), Carroll County, Frederick (Frederick County), and Howard County. MWA sponsors the annual Maryland Writers Conference. It publishes a quarterly newsletter, and has a book division which has published two anthologies of Maryland writers’ works to date.
