Yahoo! Sports seeks Major League Baseball Editor.  This is a Santa Monica-based gig and requires an extensive knowledge of America’s pastime. Send them your cover letter and resume with “Yahoo! Sports MLB Editor” as the subject. Send all to sports-jobs@yahoo.com.

Cirrus Logic seeks full time technical writers. You need to be familiar with Adobe products like FrameMaker, plus MS Visio and Word. See Cirrus Logic for full details.

Heritage Web Solutions advertises freelance writing gigs, but we’re not sure about the business model. They offer 500 word/five cents per word opportunities but require applicants to take a test and write two sample posts. We’re not wild about the “write for us before we agree to pay you” approach, but the site implies you do get paid for those two samples (though it doesn’t say so directly.) If this is legit, it would not be a bad way for newcomers to get their feet wet in content writing. Have a look at the Heritage site for full info.

Internet Brands put out a call for freelace writers a while ago, and while the ad itself may be old news, the company does advertise that it has “tons of writing assignments” in home improvement categories. IB owns a variety of sites including DoItYourself.com. Write Stacey at ibpub@internetbrands.com for details and be sure to include a phone number.
