VIRGINIA WRITERS GROUPS

The National Federation Of Press Women is a national organization based in Alexandria, VA. They serve professionals in journalism, new media, electronic journalism, marketing and PR and other disciplines. In spite of what some might assume, NFPW has plenty to offer men and women alike.

Hampton Roads Writers is based in Norfolk offering help for established and aspiring writers alike.

The Virginia Writers Club is a non-profit with multiple chapters in Richmond, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake Bay, James-York and elsewhere.

The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators serves the Virginia area with the Mid-Atlantic chapter.

James River Writers has beenĀ aimed at book writers and book lovers alike since 2002.

The Arlington Writers Meetup is a once-a-week affair, supporting writers of fiction and poetry but they do include non-fiction in the description, too.

The Poetry Society of Virginia is aimed exclusively at…well, you know.
