This collection of Idaho writers groups is part of our ongoing search for Idaho writers resources. It’s by no means complete, but we’ll keep adding to it over time, so check back often.

Idaho Writers Groups

The Idaho Writer’s League was founded in 1940 and doesn’t just help writers–it also promotes literacy. This group sponsors writing contests and a writer’s conference. The 2010 conference celebrates 70 years of serving Idaho writers.

The Idaho Screenwriters Association has meetings in Boise, Sandpoint and Twin Falls. Who knew Idaho was such a hotbed of activity for screenwriters? Now you know…it’s true that you don’t have to live in Hollywood to be in the business, and this Idaho writer’s group goes a long way toward keeping that truism alive.

Idaho Writers Guild is on Facebook and also has a website to promote the Boise-based writer’s group with the motto, “Writers Working For Writers”.

The Romance Writers of America have a chapter in Boise.

Journalists should check out the Idaho Press Club to network and find new opportunities.
