There has been a lot of hype about the new Motorola Droid, but the question is–does it live up to the buzz? I personally have not held one in my hands, but I am here to share some reviews with you that may help you decide. Personally, I’m sticking with my (beloved) iPhone…

Check out CNET–they even do a video review–pretty cool.

The Huffington Post offers their input on the Droid.

PC Mag gives an extremely thorough review of the Droid and its capabilities.

All in all, it looks like the Droid is a winner…

Recently I went back and forth between a Mac and a PC and finally settled on a Dell XPS (which I love) as my writing machine. Still, the Mac has an appeal for many, and today I’d like to share with you a page from CNET where you can find some great reviews on a few of the Apple laptops that are out there. CNET does product reviews well, so be sure and browse their site any time you are looking to make a big purchase on gear for your office.

iPhone Apps For Writers

iphoneby Catherine L. Tully

By now most FZ readers know I am a rabid fan of the iPhone and all its wonders. Today I’d like to share some appps that are especially great for writers. Here goes…take your pick:

+ CNET did a piece on apps for writers which gives five good ones to try, including the SAT vocabulary builder and “name shake,” which can generate some names when needed.

+ The Pen and Muse also has some good suggestions. Here you’ll find apps such as BlogPress, which allows you to blog on the go.

+ Also, don’t miss this great post from the Writer’s Technology Companion on apps. (And by the way, visit this site often–it has consistantly great information for writers and other freelancers.)

CNET: THE Resource for Purchasing Expensive Stuff

Gear, gear, everywhere! How to choose where to spend your hard-earned dollars? Why CNET of course! CNET does reviews on everything from MP3 players to GPS systems. You name it, they’ve probably done it. (Within reason of course….) This is considered a very reliable site, and if you want to weigh your options before making a buy–it can be a great idea to check out what is said here first.
