Make A Mistake? Don’t Dwell On It

by Catherine L. Tully

“To want to forget something is to think of it.”

-French Proverb

Even really good writers make mistakes. The proverb above made me stop and think about that fact, and I realized that many writers I know also have a tendency to beat themselves up about any goofs or gaffes they have made. The problem? It undermines your confidence and it eats up time that could be spent in a more positive way. I’ve done it myself.

So…the next time that you make a mistake, just let it go. Don’t give it the power to disrupt your groove. Just keep on going and chalk it up to experience. You’ll be glad you did!
